  • 1 Red or green pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 Onion, coarsely chopped
  • 15ml Oil
  • 250ml Uncooked rice
  • About 500ml chicken stock
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 175ml Peas
  • 30ml Chopped parsley


  1. Saute the pepper and onion in the oil till soft.
  2. Add the uncooked rice  and stir fry for about a minute.
  3. Add the chicken stock and the bay leaf and simmer till the rice is soft.
  4. Add the peas and heat till the peas are heated through.
  5. Add the parsley just before serving. (Optional)

Note: If you have a steamer, you can add everything after frying and steam for about an hour.
